HEDGE presents Jessica Pinsky, Dale Goode

Jessica Pinsky, Out of Focus, cotton warp, rayon ribbon weft, hand weaving on jacquard loom
41L x 63H inches, 2022

Jessica Pinsky returns to HEDGE Gallery with a striking new series of textiles titled I Can’t Remember Anything, opening November 18.

Pinsky’s weavings represent her mindset during her first year of motherhood in the pandemic. Woven on a TC2 jacquard loom, the original images were chosen by going through images taken on her cell phone from the first years of her twins’ lives. She found blurry, indistinguishable imagery of her living room carpet and superimposed them with scans of her twins’ early crayon drawings. During the weaving process, she exaggerated the marks by pulling and altering yarns, creating dimension on the surface of each textile.

Pinsky states about this new series, “I’m continually interested in creating woven structures that challenge the geometry of the grid while allowing me to reflect on the complexities of life.”

Dale Goode, Untitled #20, monoprint, 19L x .5W x 24H inches, 2022

The Gallery will kick off 2023 with an exhibition featuring recent prints, paintings, and sculpture by Dale Goode. Dale was recently curated into the 2022 CAN Triennial where he exhibited an extraordinary three-dimensional installation of paintings. This theme will continue at HEDGE, where several installations will be part of his first solo exhibition. Dale Goode’s work opens on January 20.
