P.E.A.C.E. Pops

Friday, July 26th  ::  6-9 pm

 PEACE Pops is a quarterly celebration of art and community. The last Friday of January, April, July and October, we invite the community into our building to tour open studios, listen to live music, participate in hands-on art making and a variety of other activities to keep your creative spirit flourishing. It is a special way in which we can connect our community with our member organizations and artists.

 This event is free and open to the public. Free snacks and refreshments will be available.

 This month’s event will feature:

ARTFUL Open Studios

6-9 pm

The ARTFUL artists invite you to visit their studios in order to engage with them and view both finished pieces and works in progress. Get to know the artists working here in your community, discover new talents and find inspiration. Various artists will offer live demonstrations and hand-on art making activities.

 Lake Erie Ink Stop The Hate Open Mic

6-8 pm

 Lake Erie Ink will host their all-ages poetry open mic from 6-8 pm.

 

Live Music featuring violinist Kym Carter

FREE

6-9 pm

Kym Carter is the primary violinist for the Euclid Symphony Orchestra and is the Orchestra Director for Roxboro Middle School. Kym has also worked with Reaching Heights’ Summer Music Camp. She will be playing a wide selection of genres throughout the evening.

 

ARTFUL’S Juneteenth Exhibit – Stronger Together – Closing Reception

This is your last chance to view ARTFUL’s 2024 Juneteenth Exhibit. Curated by ARTFUL artist LaSaundra Robinson, Stronger Together features the works of emerging and established artists from the Cleveland Area and explores connections, underlying themes and storylines between the works.

 

DD Adult Community Art Exhibit

An exhibit of artwork made by adults with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities who have limited options for art, social and community activities. This exhibit is made possible by a grant from Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities. 

 

P.E.A.C.E. Pops Puppets

Periodically throughout the evening you will find Robin VanLear and her Art Acts performers roaming the event dressed as Mice & Frog characters – a sneak peek at her upcoming collaborative performance with ARTFUL artist Sam Silverman (composer). These new headpieces were created in recent community and intern workshops in Robin’s studio.

 

ARTFUL’s Golden Paints Tasting Hands-On Workshop

Lake Erie Ink On the Tip of the Tongue: poetry from the kitchen Workshop

Golden and ARTFUL Spin Art Workshop

The members of Grace Communion Cleveland will be handing out free ice cream bars and fruity freeze pops from their space on the main level. Stop by and grab one as you make your way around our building.
