The Morgan Celebrates 15-Year Anniversary with a Kaleidoscope of Events

Students creating paper in the Morgan Conservatory garden

As the Morgan Conservatory has grown over the years, so has it changed. Our first goal was to preserve the arts of hand papermaking, bookbinding, and printmaking. In doing so, we’ve brought those arts into the 21st century by educating about and exploring the future possibilities of these “old school” techniques. This year, our fifteenth anniversary is more of a kaleidoscope than it has ever been with numerous events and exciting surprises—all celebrating the paper arts.

Community Day Open House — Saturday, May 6

We will be hosting a free, hands-on community event with a day of tours, demonstrations, and hands-on experiential activities such as marbling, letterpress print, bookbinding, and a community pulp painting in the garden.

15th Anniversary Garden Dinner — Saturday, July 22

We will host 100 guests for an exciting evening and dinner in our garden area. After dinner and during a pause in our live musical entertainment, we will conduct a live auction focused on a dozen highly desirable works of art.

In addition to planned events, new gallery exhibitions, and a wide variety of workshops recently launched this summer, we’ll keep changing the colors of the kaleidoscope with fun and unique pop-up events! Multi-faceted and ever-changing, the Morgan wouldn’t be what it is today without the generosity of its supporters who have donated their time, creativity, and resources.
