OPENING July 15, 6:00-8:30, Still Point Gallery in the Historic Murray Hill School House is Laurel Hecht’s solo show, “Resilient Nature”, acrylic paintings of flowers and trees. Her floral bouquets depict oversized flowers and intertwining stems on a soothing, sometimes pulsing, background. Trees that surrounding her yard and their interweaving stems, branches, and even root systems, this tangled world that often goes unnoticed, fascinates Hecht. Laurel’s paintings are brilliant, fluid, dreamy color transformed into a whole ecosystem of flowers, trees and their inhabitants. This is her first solo show since moving back to her hometown of Cleveland.
