Just in time for Halloween, the dynamic duo of George Kocar and John W. Carlson have teamed up once again! The Art Gallery is absolutely delighted to be the “go to” spot for this exciting exhibit. These two familiar Cleveland artists offer us up a very serious dose of contrast and style.
John Carlson‘s emotions speak to us in his thoughtful oils and charcoal work whose typical nod to color is a splash of red on an otherwise black and white ground. He tells us (and we believe) that his work “show(s) definitions by gesture, slant and color that might be seen and held in small or large hands, feelings, emotions, pains, anguish, anger, love, pleasures, and irregularities, battles and tranquilities.”
George Kocar, on the other hand, stimulates our appetites with intense color and attitude. Nothing is sacred. No-one is safe. George “question(s) the absurdity of the world and (his) place in it, and put(s) it down on canvas. Some artists try to achieve perfection in their work. (He) believe(s) that nothing is perfect, and instead (he tries) to focus on the flaws…(which) make this a crazy, wacky, wonderfully, funny world.”
Bring your friends. Meet KOcar and CARLSON whose differences make this show the perfect match! Start your evening here with light refreshments and a little pre-holiday shopping! Make The Art Gallery your destination.
