Hampton R. Olfus Jr., Lazy Afternoon

Framed Gallery presents Hampton R. Olfus Jr. on view August 2 through 31. There will be a public opening reception Friday, August 2, from 6:00 to 9:00pm.

Hampton R. Olfus Jr. is a Washington, DC, native who creates works of art that are influenced by many artistic styles. Olfus works in a variety of media. He studied art at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland. After leaving college he immersed himself in the Metro DC art scene. Hampton has exhibited his art nationally and internationally.

Hampton has been involved with many art organizations within the public and private sectors. Art is an integral part of his life. In the words of Olfus, “Let art be art, fresh and new, no egos or selfish wants just the artist’s pure spirit. I have an eclectic aesthetics that I bring with me into the studio. I choose to follow my gut when I create art. My true emotions in the studio are what I aspire to transfer through the media.”
