Tom Yody and his daughter Rebecca E. Yody love acting on the creative process they have been honing collectively for decades. Debuting all new work, the duo will showcase their individual styles and unique use of materials for the first time since they collaborated on an exhibition at the Brandt Gallery.  According to the pair, each show is a unique experience.

Tom describes his work as excursions in form and color that are a  “celebration of life, caught between object and illusion, exercising perspectives in concepts expressed in both two and three dimensions.  His true aim is to use elements in the material world to allow viewers into his inner world. Yody refers to his work as “My Journey Your Journey.”

Rebecca continuously strives to find new ways of expressing her vision by exploring alternate creative outlets.  She describes her new series of work for Two Yodys as an expression of time as she experiments with new painting techniques and incorporates photos and random materials to build visual images that she hopes will inspire reflection and peace of mind.

Two Yodys opens 7-9 pm Friday, April 7 in the Sullivan Family Gallery; through May 5.
