A Fresh Approach to What Is Possible with Glass

With a clear sense of their roots and an equal zeal for innovation, Short Line Glass, LLC and their showroom the Josephine Gallery, take on a fresh approach to what is possible with glass. Owner and Artist, Steve Leetch, is a glass advocate at heart, appreciating the rich history of craftspeople and artists who have helped push the boundaries of art glass. And on those shoulders SLG is becoming Cleveland’s quintessential modern glasshouse: idea driven, design aware and community conscience.

The venture, which now operates in 78th Street Studios, is a family affair. With Steve operating SLG’s art and design projects and his wife Cheri directing marketing, gallery operations and community outreach. The newest member and gallery namesake, Josephine, at one years old might be the star of the show though. She will certainly melt your heart as she welcomes you into a different kind of glass studio.

SLG’s residential and commercial art and design projects vary wildly from shower doors to chandeliers. Similarly, the gallery supports a variety of glass artists and community initiatives. On any given day you will find Steve meeting with an interior designer about a custom countertop or working on lighting for a theater renovation. On the same day you can find Cheri researching artists or collaborating with a local music institution for an event.  The projects differ but the intent is always the same: inspire, engage, learn, repeat. Although Short Line Glass and the Josephine Gallery may not have something for everyone, what they do have will surprise and amaze you.
