This year HEDGE Gallery hosts its first round of Artist Studio Events–intimate gatherings designed within working artists’ studios. The program will consist of a tour of the artist’s work space, the ability to view their new projects and works in progress, a brief presentation from each artist, and an ending Q & A segment.

“Part of my job as gallery director includes the opportunity to visit these incredible spaces where artists are in the midst of creating, and I want that experience to be something the public has access to as well.”

This year we will be visiting these prominent Cleveland artists’ studios:

Matthew Gallagher, February 25 6-8pm

The events are open to the public, but the amount of visitors is limited to 25 people per studio visit. If you are interested in joining us for one of the events, please contact the gallery director Hilary Gent, at hilary@hedgeartgallery.com or 216.650.4201. Beverages and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.

The spring season will conclude with the exhibit Threaded, featuring new works by artists Libby Chaney, Rebecca Cross, and Jessica Pinsky. The gallery walls will be manipulated with multiple series, including prints, large scale weavings, and collages, created to communicate the beauty of the relationship between the artists and their fabric mediums. A closing reception will take place on Friday, April 16 5-9 pm.

 

On May 20, HEDGE will open Optic Environments which features the most recent works by artists Matthew Gallagher, Sarah Hayes, Ashley Pastore, and HEDGE represented artist Dott von Schneider. Multi media works and detailed collage pieces along with Gallagher’s magnetic field paintings will be on view through June 25.
