Harris Stanton covers New Terrain, NOADA 2014, Bioforms + Microcosms, and Absolute Art Auction
New Terrain: Works by Susan Danko
New Terrain (February 21 – March 22, 2014) is a one person exhibition of the works of Cleveland artist Susan Danko. Danko was the recipient of an Ohio Arts Council Fine Arts Work residency in Provincetown, MA in the summer of 2013. She used her time there to venture back into printmaking as well as further explore themes of destruction and renewal that are recurrent in her painted works. The exhibition presents this stunning body of work–both prints and paintings, all landscapes searching for a balance between beauty and debris in environments poised between hope and despair.

Bioforms + Microcosms: Kate Budd, Eva Kwong, Beth Lindenberger, Sherrie Simms, Donna Webb
Bioforms + Microcosms (March 28 – April 25, 2014) is an exhibition of three-dimensional works inspired by the systems and processes of the biological and natural worlds, and the relationships between art and science. Eva Kwong explores how our human bodies function under the skin, referencing fertility and mortality. Kate Budd works with archetypal forms, creating hybrids that take emotional cues from the human body and possess the singularity of fruit, shells and roots. Both Donna Webb and Beth Lindenberger are interested in the relationships between the very small and the very large. Although the sculptures they make are human sized, made to fit in the hand, they refer to solar systems and microscopic plant and animal structures.
