Krew, Mozart, and Levy Star in Westlake-Westshore Arts Council Fall Programs

Judi Krew returns to Westlake Porter Public Library on Tuesday, September 17th at 7 pm. Her program, “Fascinating Faces from Interesting Places” promises a delightful discussion of her colorful pastel portraits. The program begins with a “how and why,” followed by a PowerPoint of faces and their stories. Krew lives in Canton, Ohio, where she works in a downtown arts district studio. Approximately 30 portraits from this ongoing series will be exhibited at Porter throughout September.

Highlights of Mozart’s fairy tale masterpiece, “The Magic Flute” will fill the Porter Room at Westlake Porter Public Library on October 15th at 7:30 pm. With narration by Cleveland Institute of Music Opera artistic director David Bamberger, opera stars of the future will perform segments from this well-loved fantasy. The complete opera will be performed at CIM in November.

Cleveland Arts Prize winner and Creative Workforce Fellow Andrea Levy will be at Porter Library at 7 pm on November 5th. Levy will show selections from her creative work for The Plain Dealer and will discuss the thinking behind her art. Levy’s work has won numerous major awards in Cleveland and in national newspapers and magazines.
