No Camera? No Problem! Cleveland Print Room’s Camera Share Program

Cleveland Print Room’s (CPR) free Camera Share Program opens a pathway into exploring analog photography, even for aspiring beginners who have yet to acquire their own cameras. Participating members can borrow a film camera from CPR’s collection for two weeks—just like checking out a book from a library.
Each participant receives one color and one black-and-white roll of film. CPR handles the film processing, scanning, and archiving. Afterwards, you’ll return the camera with a simple reminder that someone else is waiting for their turn. The wide selection of cameras on hand includes everything from basic 35mm to more advanced large-format cameras—something for everyone.
This is a chance to slow down, observe your surroundings, and carefully compose your shot. You can reflect on themes like curiosity, clarity, playfulness, and compassion, or even just the play of light on various surfaces. Optional add-ons include access to CPR’s darkroom for personal film processing and a circulating copy of The Mindful Photographer.
Photographs from the program may be selected for inclusion in CPR’s biannual zine, designed by Other Means, or featured on CPR platforms. Participants will be notified if their work is selected.
