From Studios to Sidewalks: Art in Tremont This Summer

WALKABOUT TREMONT
Second Fridays, May–October
Professor Avenue, 5-9 pm
Walkabout Tremont is a street activation highlighting artists and makers from across Northeast Ohio. From lively street performances to artist pop-ups, Walkabout celebrates the creative spirit that characterizes the Tremont neighborhood. This year’s programming includes guided local history tours, live performances, a pop-up museum in collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Education Art Collection, and more. Visitors are invited to experience Tremont’s dynamic nightlife and food scene with a wide range of culinary offerings and craft beverages to complement the artistic atmosphere.
ARTS IN AUGUST
Weekends in August
Lincoln Park (Dates/Times Forthcoming)
Tremont’s beloved Arts in August series transforms Lincoln Park into an open-air stage for some of Northeast Ohio’s most engaging performing arts. This year’s free, family-friendly program features performances by acclaimed regional groups such as Ohio Contemporary Ballet and Cleveland Shakespeare Festival. We invite audiences to gather with blankets and lawn chairs to celebrate the power of theater and dance in Tremont’s communal greenspace.
TREMONT ARTS & CULTURAL FESTIVAL
September 19
Lincoln Park, noon-7 pm
Now in its third decade, the Tremont Arts and Cultural Festival brings together more than a hundred artists, vendors, and performers from across Northeast Ohio to celebrate the region’s cultural diversity and creative spirit. The festival features painting, sculpture, jewelry, photography, and a wide variety of mixed media artworks; it is structured into distinct “villages,” including an Artists’ Village, Cultural Village, Community Village, and a Children’s Village. Visitors can expect a day of live music and performances, interactive experiences, and opportunities to engage with local artists, all within a family-friendly setting.
LINCOLN PARK MURAL RESTORATION PROJECT
Join Tremont residents, led by Angelica Pozo, in restoring a central piece of neighborhood public art, a tiled wall originally created by the community in 2016 that has since deteriorated. This summer, volunteers will have the opportunity to help recreate this and an additional mural. Be part of bringing these beautiful, shared artworks back to life. To get involved, contact Angelica: earth.angelpozo@gmail.com.
