East Ave Gallery Celebrates Creativity and Community This Fall

Photographer and designer Robert Greer’s exhibition, All I Am, opens September 13.

As Akron prepares to embrace the vibrant hues of fall, East Ave Gallery will mirror the season’s energy with the return of its annual MENtor Group Exhibition—a showcase dedicated to celebrating the talent of male artists. This event reflects the gallery’s ongoing commitment to creative exchange and mentoring as we cultivate the next generation of artists through knowledge-sharing and inspiration.

Attendees can look forward to live performances, interactive artist interviews, and a food truck experience—all designed to foster connection and creativity.

This year’s exhibition also marks a milestone for one of Akron’s own. Artist, husband, father, and Akron Black Artist Guild member Robert Greer Sr.will debut his first solo exhibition, All I Am. Known for his compelling photography and graphic design, Greer is also the CEO of the Christian apparel brand ZaBre Inspire LLC. His show is deeply personal: “All I Am is not just a title—it’s a testimony,” Greer shares.

Through a multidisciplinary presentation—featuring photography, illustration, poetry, spoken word, and apparel design—Greer invites viewers into a sacred reflection of transformation, survival, and soul-level joy. Each piece serves as a mirror of a moment: joy discovered in quiet scenes, pain reshaped into purpose, and style used as a form of storytelling.

“This show isn’t about impressing,” Greer says. “It’s about connecting—with those reclaiming light after darkness, and those still remembering who they are.”

All I Am is a creative offering of truth and hope. It’s poetry that prays. It’s cloth stitched with belief. It’s a visual testimony of what it means to rise—again and again—and still hold on to faith. The community is warmly invited to come experience the heart of this multi-disciplinary artist.

Looking ahead to October, East Ave Gallery will close out 2025 with a very special exhibition, Me and My Girlfriends. Curated by gallery owner and artist Jacqueline Harris, the show features Harris’ own work alongside that of her handpicked creative friends. While Harris’ art has been exhibited widely across Northeast Ohio, this collaborative exhibition offers something more intimate—an expression of friendship, community, and shared creativity. Expect to see more than wall art: repurposed furniture, small prints, and handmade crocheted clothing will also be available for purchase.

Every few months, the East Ave Gallery refreshes its front lobby market—offering regular visitors something new to discover. From local makers to seasonal items, it’s a space that keeps creativity in motion. The market is also home to WeezieCakes, the beloved Akron-based creative baker known for her custom confections.

With so many vibrant offerings, East Ave Gallery continues to be a cornerstone of creativity in Akron. As the year winds down, the community can look forward to connection, celebration, and inspiration—season after season.
