In early 2026, Artists Archives of the Western Reserve is undertaking a huge and exciting project: the complete remodel of our archival storage area! As of this writing, we are on schedule and would like to take this opportunity to invite you, our pals and peers, to a grand reopening celebration that will feature our Annual Member’s Exhibition opening in the Galleries, as well as public tours of our newly housed collection!

While construction is underway, we’ve organized several offsite events to stay engaged with our supportive communities. In March we have two Archived Artist studio visits planned: On Saturday, March 14, we will travel to see Baila Litton and Joyce Morrow Jones in their respective studios at the Twist Drill Building, and on Saturday, March 28, Archived Artist and AAWR Executive Director Mindy Tousley’s eclectic studio and personal art collection will be the destination.

In April, along with our reopening celebration, AAWR will partner with The Art Gallery in Willoughby to present April Fools, a celebration of humorous art co-curated by AAWR staff and Jacques Jackson. This exhibition will feature work focused on the art of the practical joke. Opening Thursday, April 2, puns, satire, shenanigans and/or general tomfoolery will be visualized and on display. Additionally, on Saturday, April 18, we will be co-hosting a visit to Studio Foundry with co-owner and AAWR Gallery Committee member Lisa Kenion. Studio Foundry is a full-service investment bronze casting facility that has cast many of the monumental sculptures in the Cleveland area.

For more information on all these programs, and the finalized date of our reopening celebration, keep an eye on our website and social media channels.
