Things are busy as always at the Cleveland Print Room this fall, with more classes and workshops in our community darkroom, and a lively schedule of exhibits in our gallery to delight and inspire.

Opening September 8, we are excited to present a dual exhibition featuring the transgressive, vintage fashion photography-inspired work of New York artist Lissa Rivera and Transformer Station co-founder Laura Ruth Bidwell’s darkly compelling photographic work. Rivera’s Beautiful Boy exhibition received rave reviews in the New York Times and elsewhere when it opened there earlier this year; Bidwell’s recent body of work entitled Gratiot weaves a visual narrative through mysteriously interrelated photographs and artifacts from this imagined locale. This exhibit runs through November 4. Additionally, there will be a gallery talk with the artists at 4:00pm on Saturday, September 9.

Come November, Cleveland Print Room will bring back the work of our previous Cuban Creative Fusion artists-in-residence, Pilar Rubí and Sandra Ramos, and local artists who have worked with them here and in Cuba. This two-week pop-up exhibition may be seen in our gallery from November 10 through 25.

From December 1 to 16, Cleveland Print Room members are invited to display their photographic artwork in our fifth annual Off The Wall Members Showcase, which now also includes an exhibition of area student photography from our Cleveland Foundation-funded Multiple Exposure program. This is a great opportunity to see and purchase unique work either for yourself or for holiday gift-giving, and takes place during the ArtCraft Building’s popular Holiday Sale.
