Jesse Rhinehart Plans New Workshop Series for Fall

Jesse Rhinehart, well-known painter in oils and watercolors, muralist and engaging teacher, is adding a new-style watercolor workshop to his fall line-up of classes. His longstanding Advanced Watercolor class will return to its Thursday afternoon time slot—1 to 3:30 pm—with two back-to-back sessions. The eight-week session will begin September 11 and end October 30. A six-week session runs November 6 to December 18 (no class November 27).

Rhinehart’s alternate workshop series for those looking to take up watercolors, or those less experienced, will meet from 9:30 am until noon on Wednesday mornings. The two Beginning Watercolor sessions will follow the same time frame as the Advanced series. The eight-week session runs from September 10 through October 29. The six-week follows from November 5 to December 17 (no class November 26).

Jesse tailors his classes to each individual’s needs. He never employs a one-size-fits-all approach. In the advanced classes he intersperses short exercises with continuing guidance as students work on their own paintings. Through a series of short exercises, beginning students learn the art of mixing colors.

Students in the Beginning and Advanced classes pay $120 for three weeks. Students who pay for the entire session in advance pay $300 (normally $320) for the 8-week session and $225 (normally $240) for the 6-week session. Students get credit for classes missed.

New to Rhinehart’s lineup for fall 2025 is his Watercolor Wednesdays series. This series with a casual approach is for anyone with an interest in the arts, who may or may not have previous experience, who wants to give watercolor a try without the commitment of purchasing paints, paper and brushes. It is the perfect end to a work day in the middle of the week, as they run from 5/5:30 to 7 pm.

On Watercolor Wednesdays, Jesse will have potential still lifes and sample photographs that participants may use for inspiration. He will supply the necessary watercolor supplies, light snacks, and non-alcoholic beverages. (BYOB other liquid libations.) Regularly $50 per session, participants who pay for 3 sessions at a time will get a $5 per-session discount.

Rhinehart’s inviting studio is conveniently located in midtown at 1400 East 30th Street.
