A Summer to Feel Alive with Art on the Ave

Raccine Williams will exhibit more than 50 works at East Ave Gallery in June and July.

This summer is looking bright as Akron’s East Ave Gallery expands their exposure of artistic mediums from visual to musical. In their early beginnings, the gallery would reach out to local bands to play live music during their summer flea markets. And now, their Art on the Aveevents will feature experienced musicians and vocalists at each exhibition opening. June will have an extended exhibition showing of Raccine Williams’ realistic and cubistic styles of painting.

Raccine “Racee” Williams was born in Cleveland and started drawing and painting at the age of three. While she was just a high school student, one of her paintings, Inner City, was selected to hang permanently on the walls of Cleveland City Hall. Throughout the years, Raccine has had showings at Karamu House Theatre, The Local Girl Art Gallery, and the Robert Thürmer People’s Art Show at The Galleries at CSU. Still based in Cleveland, Raccine and her husband continue to be involved in artistic and musical endeavors. Throughout June and July, the East Ave Gallery will be showcasing over fifty pieces of her artwork.

Floco Torres

In August, a recognized name in Akron, Floco Torres, is premiering new music hits along with some graphic design work. Floco Torres is a hip-hop musician, producer, composer, graphic designer, community outreach director, and one half of the hip-hop duo Free Black!,. Thirty-eight projects deep into his career, he has gained a steady following for his hip-hop-meets-alternative-rock style.

Today, Floco continues to redefine hip-hop with his own personal style that simulates a feeling that he is speaking directly to you. Like many of our multi-talented artists, Floco has allowed his creativity and curiosity to lead him into graphic design as he creates concert/event posters, community engagement campaigns, and social media marketing graphics.
