312 in the 216! Chicago post-graffiti expressionist, Ish Muhammad, will debut his new work at Eileen Dorsey Studio this fall! When Muhammad and Dorsey met a year ago, they agreed that they would trade studios for Studio Swap: Chicago and Cleveland. Dorsey spent time working in Muhammad’s studio in Chicago this past May, and now it’s time for Ish to come to Cleveland. During the week of September 9th, Ish Muhammad will be creating work at Dorsey’s studio and getting to know the Cleveland arts scene. His residency ends with a closing reception on Friday, September 15 from 5 – 9pm during one of the 78th Street Studios Third Friday art walks. Muhammad has exhibited at the Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago.

Deduction is a collection of Eileen Dorsey’s newest experimental paintings, most of which, have never been previously exhibited. Dorsey is a contemporary impressionist landscape painter. She has exhibited at the Butler Institute of American Art, Gallery West at Cuyahoga Community College, Fawick Art Gallery at Baldwin Wallace University and the Sandusky Cultural Center. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Cuyahoga County Administration Building, Southwest General Hospital, and UH Cleveland Medical Center.

The opening reception for Deduction is Friday, October 20 from 5 – 9pm. Guests are invited to explore the building during the art walk. The closing reception is the following month on Friday, November 17^th from 5 – 9pm.
