Summer at the Cleveland Print Room
The Summer heat doesn’t slow things down at the Cleveland Print Room for a minute! CPR is excited to present our second annual open-call, juried exhibition, The Peer Show, judged this year by Transformer Station co-founder Laura Ruth Bidwell and Akron Museum of Art Collections Manager Arnold Tunstall. The Peer Show awards cash prizes in five categories, and features works in a variety of photographic media: everything from digital to hand-processed black-and-white, to various alternative processes. It opens Friday, June 10, and will be on display through July 21.
Opening July 29 and running through August 13, the Cleveland Photographic Society will be presenting a pop-up, pets-themed exhibition in our gallery entitled Reigning Cats and Dogs and So Much More.
Rounding out the Summer’s exhibition schedule is Scale3, featuring the photographic work of Lori Kella, with film-based video art by Jacob Koestler and Toby Kaufmann-Buhler. Kella, known for the depictions of elaborate, hand-made landscapes in her large-scale photography, will be joined by the loose, post-industrial Rust Belt stream-of-conscious narratives of Johnstown, Pennsylvania artist and musician Koestler, and “collage-narrative” video work featuring found media artifacts, sound, and text by southern Ohio artist, Kaufmann-Buhler. Scale3 opens Friday, August 19 and runs through September 23.
Please join us this summer–with our full slate of exhibitions, classes and workshops, there’s always something stirring at the Cleveland Print Room!
