Get out of the house and flex your creative muscles at Zygote Press. Maybe you’ve never tried printmaking before, or perhaps you’re a printmaker looking to complete a large project. At Zygote, we have an extensive selection of group classes, open studios, and individual instruction options ready for you to explore printmaking and to get making.

If you are a printmaker looking for a fully-equipped shop, look no further. Zygote currently has some Full Studio Access spots available. This includes 24/7 access to our presses and studio, as well as a locker and flat file storage.

If you’re not a printmaker, but you’re interested in joining our community at Zygote, getting a membership is a great way to get started. For only $50 ($25 students/seniors) you receive a 25% discount on all of our classes and workshops, and access to Open Studio hours to work on your projects—and your membership dollars go a long way in helping us create opportunities for artists through our residency and outreach programs.

In addition to our group classes, our one-on-one classes allow for a customized learning experience with a Zygote Teaching Artist. Individuals can purchase hourly instruction to learn a specific printmaking process, or for help on a specific project.

At Zygote, we are committed to keeping everyone as safe as possible and require all in-person workshop participants, staff, teaching artists, members, or anyone using the shop to show proof of vaccination. We are also requiring everyone in the studio to wear masks and are limiting the number of people allowed in the space. In December, we invested in a large-space air purifier with a HEPA-13 carbon filter that removes 99.99% of viruses, including COVID-19, from the air. Surfaces are still being sanitized on a regular basis, and every possible precaution is being taken to ensure the health and safety of everyone who comes to Zygote.
