Mural & Patio Project

A mural is being created for the north wall of our building facing Pearl Road. It is no secret: murals make our neighborhoods beautiful! They add color to building walls and streets that would otherwise go unnoticed, which is a treat for locals and tourists alike. Murals attract new local businesses, help bring customers to pre-existing locations, and boost the economy of an area. We will design a visual art mural outline and base background, then welcome the community to come and enjoy the garden atmosphere as we bring the vibrant colors to life.

A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling, or other permanent surface. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture. Art impacts us by allowing the freedom to express ourselves. Seeing art and collaborating with artists helps people understand that a lot of this world is created through art and creativity.

First Saturday Every Month

La Cosecha Galeria and The Headshop are not simply retail outlets, but our creative mirrors. We plan to reach another level of celebration of local artisans and entrepreneurs in 2021. With a rolling call for artists/craftsmen/makers, we are proud to welcome everyone to our First Saturday Art Opening Nights, featuring an amazingly talented diversity of people the First Saturday of every month, with viewings open to the public during hours of operation.

The LCG Creative Café introduces its Open Mic Night, “Higher Verse”, featuring amazingly talented artists the Last Saturday of every month. Signup begins at 6:00pm; show starts at 7:00pm. Open call: musicians, poets, magicians, and comics—everybody welcomed! An audience vote determines the prizewinner.

Creative Studio Workshops

Knowing how to think empowers you far beyond those who know only what to think.

Have you ever wanted to nurture your creative side? Learn the basics of graphic design, painting in different mediums, or creative DIY projects? Now you can. At your time, at your pace, you design your class. We will provide Creative Studio Workshops on Sunday through Friday at 6:00pm, with a different subject daily and a new project weekly. We also have private lessons or specific project-oriented consultations.

Topiltzin LIVE

As we survey the landscape for the future in the arts community, many artists and arts organizations may not survive, nor will we go back to how things operated previously. The choice becomes simple: either spend our time as artists making a living or making art live for us.

Please join me on my personal journey every Sunday at noon, while I tackle a variety of creative outlets such as painting, poetry, journalism, creative writing, graphic design, and many DIY projects, highlighting the chaotic analytical process for finding inspiration—all while discussing important artist life topics, such as mental processes and the entrepreneurial aspects: documentation, proposal or grant writing, strategic planning, research, and funding.

La Cosecha Galeria, a well-publicized art gallery owned by artist Will “Topiltzin” Sanchez which has welcomed artists to develop since 2001, has high hopes for this new business venture: the art gallery and a second location for The Headshop boutique, with an added worldly café environment in The Creative Café.
