There is something to see in nearly every inch of Public Square, including the back side of the restaurant REBOL, on the quadrant in front of the Terminal Tower.  Eclectic murals adorn the café wall and rotate every three to fourth months, creating a constantly changing outdoor gallery space that inspires conversation among visitors. LAND studio has partnered with local artists to create the thought-provoking murals.

Most recently, the space was occupied with work by local artist Brian Andrew Jasinski. This spring, Cleveland- based artist Dakarai Akil installed a mural in his signature collage style that will be up throughout the summer. Dakarai Akil, a visual artist, is a member of Cleveland based collective Lab Cabin Cleveland and founder/designer of THISBRANDUSA, a lifestyle brand that features Akil’s work on various items including apparel and home products.

“The world seems to be coming apart at its seams as the higher ups standby and watch us be torn apart over things like immigration, the “Muslim ban,” and our age old problem with police brutality. Society desperately needs a few spoonfuls of love and compassion for one another,” says Akil of his Public Square mural.

Still to come this year will be more new projects in this outdoor gallery space by regional artists including Breanne Trammell, Terran Washington, Dante Rodriguez, and Justin Will. Make sure to check out the installations each time you are on the square.
