ABC & CCN: News around Art House
The last few months have been busy! Denison fourth-graders constructed large fish, based on what they had learned about Lake Erie’s aquatic population and personal experiences of Cleveland. During our second Annual ABC (Artists+Bowls+Chili) Chili Cook-Off the studio was packed with people enjoying chili samplers. Nine contenders competed against last year’s winner: “Goya and the Gringo.” “Just Andy” rose to the top and will return next year to defend his title. March 31, Art House relaunched Community Culture Night (CCN) with a lecture by Martinez E-B, a Chicago-based artist formerly from East Cleveland. In April, the Strategic Planning Committee held its retreat to shape Art House’s future. The envisioning session for our future Greenspace wraps up soon.
Our yearly Urban Bright Exhibition, May 13 – 20, showcased the artwork that all the students have completed during the 2016-2017 Urban Bright Arts-in-Education programs. Come visit from 7 to 10 pm July 8, for the annual Inventory Swap Challenge. Watch artists create work from Art House’s inventory and other swapped supplies. The next CCN will be in September, and our Fall benefit will take place early October. Stay tuned for more details.
