The Akron location will conclude the winter season with a vibrant and expressionistic group show featuring established artists Patricia Zinsmeister Parker and Wendy Chazin.

Parker holds multiple degrees including an MFA from Kent State University and worked as a distinguished educator at the University of Akron’s School of Art for nearly two decades. Her narrative abstract expressionist style has been recognized by The Cleveland Museum of Art as her work has been acquired by their permanent collection and has been included in various exhibitions of theirs throughout the years. She has also been collected by institutions such as the Akron Art Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art, the Canton Art Museum, and Smithsonian Institution of American Art.

Chazin, who similarly works in an expressionist style, graduated from The Boston University School of Fine and Applied Arts and The School of Visual Art in New York, and later studied and painted in Provence. Her fascination with the South of France inspired her to work in a style suggestive of Matisse and the contemporary French artists who followed him. Her work has been widely collected by private estates along with companies including: Goodrich Corporation, Yale-New Haven Medical Center, and University Hospitals.

In April the Cleveland gallery will host its annual Art-tini Auction. This year we are excited to announce it will again benefit a scholarship (The Harris Stanton Gallery Scholarship Fund) for a rising senior in the Visual Arts at the Cleveland Institute of Art. The auction will open for bidding April 13 and close with a vodka themed party on April 20. Last year we raised over $2,000 for the recipient. It’s a great opportunity for novice collectors and more seasoned ones to start or expand their collection. Bidding on the art starts at a discounted price, 20 percent below retail, and will feature the gallery’s vast array of local and international fine art. The event gives back to a great cause while supporting our area’s local burgeoning talent.
