Join us at the Cleveland Print Room this Spring as we plunge into our fifth year. Members of CPR have access to Cleveland’s only community darkroom, where you can develop and print your own film. Members also receive discounts on classes and workshops — from basic B&W darkroom printing to Polaroid transfers, pinhole photography and cyanotypes. CPR has classes for all ages and levels of experience.

Opening the last week of March will be the capstone exhibition of work created by the students participating in our latest Project Snapshot course. With Project Snapshot, students from Cleveland’s St. Martin de Porres school learn the basics of B&W 35 mm photography, learning how to express themselves in pictures and words, giving them the first opportunity to display and sell their work in a gallery.

As a follow-up to January’s Inside Outside exhibition of historical early twentieth-century clinical glass slides, we are proud to present a special Artist Response, Experiment In Progress: Please Do Not Disturb show opening Friday, April 7. A select group of photographers, artists, and musicians was asked to create new work in response to the collection of photographs. A wide variety of visual media will be represented in the new exhibition, with a special evening of music and performance.

Keep your eyes out for announcements to submit work for this year’s juried Peer Show, which will be opening Friday, June 9. Open to any US or Canada resident over 18, artists will be asked to submit up to two pieces of original art in any photographic medium, analog or digital. With cash prizes awarded in five categories, it’s the perfect opportunity to show off your photographic achievements.
