Pastry chefs are an arty bunch, but they rarely get the recognition they deserve. That will all change at the Art Therapy Studio’s Creative Confections Dessert Competition and Benefit on Friday, November 7 at the Skyline Lake Room at Ariel International Center in Cleveland.

 

This fundraiser will showcase the confectionery genius and creativity of 30 northeastern Ohio chefs as they allow their imaginations to run wild, incorporating “The Artful Cupcake” theme into their cupcake creations.

 

Celebrated chef and restaurateur Doug Katz (Fire Food & Drink, Katz Club Diner, and Provenance at the Cleveland Museum of Art) will serve as Honorary Chair. Chef Katz will also serve on the culinary judging panel and mingle with guests as they enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and unlimited samplings of the chef’s cupcake entries.

 

Advance sale discount tickets as well as raffle tickets for a Cleveland dining and entertainment package can be purchased online.

 

Proceeds will support the Art Therapy Studio’s mission of enhancing the quality of life of those with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges through the therapeutic use of art in hospitals, social service agencies, and weekly “Discover the Artist Within You” community classes.
