Beauty in the Ordinary: Cleveland Print Room
Join us at the Cleveland Print Room this fall to take advantage of all the opportunities our photography center has to offer. Membership at the Print Room grants you access to Cleveland’s only community darkroom where you can develop and print your film. You will also receive discounts on a variety of exclusive classes and workshops ranging from how to shoot film to darkroom printing and processing. We also offer specialized workshops on alternative processes, such as making and using pinhole cameras, as well as creating camera-less images with photograms. Young and old, CPR has classes for the novice to the experienced photographer.
The fall gallery schedule begins with Lost & Found: Vernacular & Found Photography(August 22 – September 20). Found photos and snapshots have been gathered from private collectors and photo dealers from around the country for this exhibit. Additionally, there will be an accompanying panel discussion and a performance piece.
Next, CPR presents: Clarence A Wilkins Uncovered: From Cairo, Illinois to New York City(September 26 – November 7). Clarence Wilkins began shooting photographs at 13, and at 18 he left small-town Illinois for New York City, where he attended television trade school. He also honed his skills as a street photographer. At the age of 76, his first exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, September 26.
Capping the fall schedule is the Cleveland Project: Photorealism (November 13 – November 29), a joint exhibition featuring work from the Chilean Creative Fusion Artist Pablo Serra Marino along with work from photography students from Saint Martin De Porres High School.
Reignite your passion for film photography at the Cleveland Print Room this fall. From gallery shows to photography workshops, there is something for everyone at the Print Room.
