Support Cleveland Artists at the Art Therapy Studio’s ArtLoan Benefit on September 21

You can get lots of things on loan: a car, a house, books, a DVD, a washer and dryer, a video game, a work of art. Say that again?

Yes, even a work of art … if you attend the ArtLoan benefit on September 21, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Shaker Heights Country Club.

Replace those rock band posters or warped seascape prints on your walls with original pieces by recognized Cleveland artists. You can choose from more than 200 pieces in The George Streeter Circulating Collection at the Art Therapy Studio’s biennial fundraiser.

The collection includes works by such well-known artists as Viktor Schreckengost, Julian Stanczak, Phyllis Seltzer, Joseph O’Sickey and Herbert Ascherman, Jr. Art created by those who’ve participated in the Studio’s creative, therapeutic art programs will also be featured.

The artwork is available for “loan” to guests for a one-year period in return for a nominal donation. Remember to arrive early as art is rented on a first-come, first-served basis!

Local artists will be creating art during the event and select pieces will be included in the silent auction. Hors d’oeuvres, pastries and complimentary valet service will be offered to guests.

“This event is a wonderful way to support our Cleveland artists and the Art Therapy Studio’s ongoing work,” said ArtLoan chairperson Chris Treu. “It also provides local businesses and homeowners a low-cost opportunity to display fresh artwork in their offices and homes.”
