Observing and Reacting, and Holga with Hadley at The Cleveland Print Room

This Fall, the Cleveland Print Room offers a full array of exhibitions and educational opportunities to please a diverse audience.

Opening September 13, nationally-acclaimed photographer and Akron native Angelo Merendino’s Observing and Reacting turns the lens on unsuspecting pedestrians in New York as they furtively (and sometimes blatantly) catch a glimpse of him and his late wife, Jennifer, who was then undergoing chemotherapy. The observers become the observed.

September concludes with classes and workshops, including our Pinhole Camera Club Workshop, and the return of one of our most popular classes, Holga with Hadley. Students will learn all about cheap plastic cameras and basic darkroom printing skills with photographer, teacher & CIA graduate, Hadley K. Connor.

October 19 – 21, Cleveland artist Greg Martin will teach the Art and Craft of Wet Plate Collodion Photography. This intensive three-day session will give students a basic understanding of this historic process that produces consistently stunning and beautiful results on aluminum and glass plates.

Finally, November 15 through 25, the gallery hosts the American Society of Media Photographers, Ohio North Coast Chapter in a show that highlights both personal and professional work.
