A Note from Patricia Simmons:

Art is my life. When I was four years old I decided to become a great artist. Am I there yet? Not quite but art has brought me to exciting places and a sense of serenity. Each time I do art I try to make it a WOW!!  That means I can make a connection with the viewer in less than a fraction of a second. I am passionate about painting and drawing. I use any medium from crayons to coffee. I was able to attend classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art from second grade to the sixth grade.  It was like being in Wonderland! I have my BFA from Cleveland State University. I took an extra year to be certified as an Art Teacher. I attended classes for 2 years at the Cleveland Institute of Art and Kent State University for one year. My graduate classes are from Ursuline Academy along with seven summers at Cleveland State University. I taught art for 20 years and it was a remarkable experience.  I have won many awards in my county and during childhood.  Amazing professors in art school and college helped shape my talent and I am grateful to all of them. I believe my art is spiritually inspired. Subject matter is random and so are various media. Abstract art is my greatest challenge. Drawing and painting women intrigues me. Long ago I wanted to be a Fashion artist. Color is the primary element in my art.  My art has evolved over time for over seven decades now and I feel the best is yet to come.  When you look at my art you are looking at what is in my heart and in my soul. Enjoy!
