Valley Art Center Presents the 53rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition: A Fusion of Visual Art and Poetry
Valley Art Center is thrilled to unveil the 53rd Annual Juried Art Exhibition, where visual art will meet the power of poetry. Running through December 16, this year’s exhibition features an impressive selection of over fifty artworks from artists, living within a 250-mile radius, who are carefully chosen by our esteemed jury panel: Liz Burgess (former owner of Ginko Gallery and artist), Christy Davis (Curator of Exhibitions, Canton Museum of Art), and Aaron D. Williams (aka Aawful Aaron, artist and entrepreneur). Thank you to our sponsors for making this exhibition happen, including Carnegie Investment Council, Premier Bank, Ancora, TKM Print Solutions, Hamlet at Chagrin Falls, Patton Pest Control, Ohio Arts Council, and Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
Valley Art Center is bringing back our dynamic collaboration with Heights Arts for the Ekphrastacy—Artists Talk + Poets Respond event on December 5. This is where the magic happens: local poets will craft and perform original pieces inspired by the art on display, creating an unforgettable fusion of visual and spoken word. An ASL interpreter will be on-site.
Ekphrastacy takes guests deeper into the conversation between art forms. The event transforms a gallery visit into a lively evening of creativity and connection, offering a more intimate and emotional engagement with the pieces on display. Doors open at 6:30 pm, and the poetry starts at 7 pm. Tickets are free—grab yours now via Eventbrite on valleyartcenter.org/current. Join us as art and poetry come together in an inspiring, interactive dialogue. You won’t want to miss it!
Are you interested in becoming an art instructor? Valley Art Center is looking for passionate artists to join our team for six-week courses and one-time workshops! We offer classes in a variety of mediums, including clay, painting, drawing, jewelry, mixed media, pastels, textiles, and more, for students of all ages and skill levels.
