Muse (`myuz)

  1. v. 1: to think about something carefully or thoroughly. 2: to think or say (something) in a thoughtful way.
  2. n. A source of inspiration.

Recently working on a creative project as a fundraiser for the Society of North American Goldsmiths, the word “muse” came up more than once.  Sometimes as artists we struggle for the spark of an idea to get a creation started.  But once the muse appears, it is almost like magic how everything starts to fall into place.  The completed piece shines with the touch of the artist and their muse; the muse appears to us in many ways.

Over the years, Flux Metal Arts has witnessed the journey of inspiration from muse to artist and from artist to piece.  In 2017 we invite you to join us in the studio and experience the muses first hand. Along with our popular Introduction to Jewelry and Metalsmithing class, we will also have several specialized technique workshops featuring visiting artists such as Donna Penoyer, Victoria Lansford, Cynthia Eid, Richard Salley, Eric Burris, Amy Roper Lyons, Alison Antelman, and Anne Havel.  Classes, workshops, open studio… these are but a few of the ways we connect artist and inspiration.

Like the art we choose, the fashion we wear… the muses speak through our self expression.  Our boutique gallery is filled with the artistic muses of local artists.  Unique hand-made jewelry and decorative wall art can be found, waiting for you.  Perfect for the holidays, or every day, you can discover the hand crafted piece that speaks to you.  It is a personal connection that cannot always be explained. The artists muse has been passed on to you.

Whether you create, or shop, you can find your muse at Flux Metal Arts.
