10TH INTERNATIONAL ARTIST’S BOOK TRIENNIAL VILNIUS 2024 – MAY 23 TO JUNE 28

The Morgan is excited to be hosting a prominent stop of the 10th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2024 on the North American leg of its tour. Cleveland is one of nine international exhibition spaces: Leipzig, Germany; Venice, Italy; Vilnius, Lithuania; Plunge, Lithuania; Cologne, Germany; Evanston, Illinois; Fredonia, New York; and Granada are the others.

The 10th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2024 is a unique non-commercial cultural project. It was originally was organized to promote worldwide artists’ books, and to connect galleries, publishers, editors and printers of fine art and limited editions with the greater general public, collectors, and individual artists.

For the triennial, 197 artists representing 41 countries created books based on the theme “To Be.” An international jury selected 77 artists’ books, representing 29 countries. Professor Kęstutis Vasiliūnas serves as curator and the organizers are Circle “Bokartas” and Artist’s Book Museum Vilnius.

TRANSFORMING NARRATIVES OF IDENTITY – JULY 25 TO SEPTEMBER 20

There are many intrinsic aspects of one’s identity such as race, gender and sexual orientation. In today’s world, those identities are challenged physically, mentally, and politically. Despite opposition, these artists in paper, book and print intertwine their identities with their work to unapologetically establish who they are.
