Steel-town by James Pernotto, The Dance of Abstraction by Patty Flauto, MFA Thesis Exhibition and HopeCAT Youth Arts Exhibition.
Steel-town features artwork by James Pernotto which documents the collapse of the industrial revolution in Youngstown, Ohio.
In The Dance of Abstraction, distinguished alum, Patty Flauto, puts forth suggestion, implication and mystery rather than obvious “real” pictures. Provoking thought about paintings that are visible yet incomprehensible has magic unto itself.
The MFA Thesis Exhibition features the visual art research of Kerrianne Ghinda and Katherine Williamson. They are the final two candidates from the Master of Fine arts degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts.
The HopeCAT Youth Arts Exhibition features participants in the Spring semester 2022 from each of the studios HopeCAT offers, which include Painting/Drawing, Printmaking, and Ceramics. HopeCAT is a non-profit organization that provides free after-school arts classes for students in grades 7-12 from the surrounding region with the goal of increasing positive mentorship and leading students to pathways that create productive citizens in our communities.
