The Jack and Linda Lissauer Gallery at the Shaker Historical Society (SHS), 16740 South Park Boulevard in Shaker Heights, OH, is delighted to welcome Christopher Pekoc back to the Shaker Historical Society for a solo exhibit. His work will be on display in the Lissauer Art Gallery from January 29 through March 20, 2016. Visit the Shaker Historical Society to see these works in person.
His family has long supported the Shaker Historical Society, and he is the son of Irene Pekoc, who passed away sadly last year. Pekoc exhibited his art here in 2013, when we partnered with Shaker Heights native, William Tregoning, who owns one of the most respected art galleries in the area, Tregoning & Co. Tregoning curated “A Myers’ House Salute: Cleveland School Art 1910-1969”, which included a work by Chris Pekoc to represent the later period of the Myers’ residency in our building on South Park.
Gallery Opening Reception will be held at the Shaker Historical Society on January 29th from 6-8pm. Join us and meet the artist! The reception is free, but we do request that art lovers make a reservation by calling 216.921.1201.

This new exhibit will be entirely devoted to Pekoc’s new work, which challenges traditional concepts of art hung on a wall – it is more than paint on canvas… Pekoc uses mixed media to build his art with depth, clarity and resonance.
Black Hand Gold Dove is one example of Pekoc’s more recent work at Tregoning & Co. Many new pieces will be on exhibit that have just come from Pekoc’s studio as well – never before seen!
The Lissauer Gallery features Northeast Ohio art, and we could not be more excited to co-host Christopher Pekoc: New Work with our friends at Tregoning & Co. The free gallery opening reception will be Friday, January 29th from 6-8pm at the Shaker Historical Society. Reservations are requested at 216.921.1201. The artist will be present and will say a few words about his new work. The exhibit will be on display January 29-March 20, 2016.
