Kent Blossom Art Intensives Return in 2022

Kent Blossom Art Intensives ceramic student at work

Kent Blossom Art Intensives (KBAI), Kent State University School of Art’s long-running summer studio art intensive, announces its return after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The return of the program in the summer of 2022 will include two-week intensives in ceramics, jewelry/metals/enameling, painting, print media and photography, and sculpture and expanded media. All sessions will take place from May 30 through June 12 and are open to students, as well as individual artists.

KBAI provides the opportunity to create a self-directed body of artwork under the guidance of resident KSU School of Art faculty and talented visiting artists from around the country. Participants enjoy two weeks of focused art making in an environment similar to an artist residency, offering in-depth discussions, professional mentorships, and unforgettable experiences for all who participate. Enrolling in KBAI can help artists discover new techniques, ideas, and means of creation while connecting to professionals in their fields.

“I loved being surrounded by different artists of all levels making work all day! It was super fun and also rigorous. I feel like I worked through new ideas and learned a lot of new things,” said one KBAI participant.

KBAI can be taken for undergraduate or graduate credit; or individual artists can choose our non-credit option for $1100. Learn more and apply by April 30 at kent.edu/kentblossomart.
