It’s A Family Affair! Intergenerational Art Program

Spring has sprung, and the Edward E. Parker Museum of Art, (EEPMOA) is excited to be conducting an intergenerational art class this summer—It’s a Family Affair! During this six-week program, parents, grandparents, or siblings will work side by side with a child as they create works of art using a variety of artistic techniques and mediums. Upon completion of the class, EEPMOA will host a free community art exhibition to display the students’ best work. The classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00pm for six weeks, for a total of twelve classes. Classes are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 18. Registration for this class is open, but space is limited. This is a free program; however donations will be accepted to offset material costs, supplies and refreshments. If you are interested in registering for this class or have questions, call Edward Parker at 216.851.6910 to sign up.

Shinn Gallery & Artist Speak

Professor Parker currently curates three galleries at Shinn House, which is housed at Mount Zion Congregational Church, 10723 Magnolia Drive in Cleveland. Shinn House exhibitions remain on display for six to eight weeks and are followed by a public forum called Artist Speak, where the featured artists meet at EEPMOA, 13240 Euclid Avenue in East Cleveland. This public forum allows the artists to meet with other artists and art enthusiasts to network, exchange ideas and information, and answer questions related to their body of work. Light refreshments are served at these events and dinners are available for purchase. Dessert is always on the house.

The Shinn House exhibitions are ongoing, so we are always looking for talented artists to show their work. The current show opened on Saturday, April 13, and will remain on display through mid-June; the next show is scheduled to open shortly thereafter. If you are interested in this opportunity, please give us a call at the number listed above. You can also reach us via email at snickerfritz1941@yahoo.com.
