The Art Gallery in Willoughby has some interesting events this summer. We invited some of our favorite artists to create their idea of what, to them, constitutes Sweet Treats. The artists have created some unusual images in a variety of media. This yummy show opened on Friday, July 13 and will continue to August 3 when the leftover goodies will go home.

Our invitational photography show, Painting with Light, opens with a reception on Friday, August 10 from 6:00 to 9:00pm. This show focuses on the beauty of photographic images. The artistry of our talented photographers will continue until August 31.

Because we are in the farthest corner of the art universe, we are getting more creative with special events. To celebrate “Gorgeous Grandma Day” (which is July 23), all grandmas who come into the gallery between July 23 and July 30 will be invited to have their pictures taken. On July 31, a “Gorgeous Grandma” will be selected to win a gift certificate from the Art Gallery.

Next, we will run “Get Creative Month” from August 8 through September 8. Anyone who comes into the gallery will be offered a piece of paper and colored pencils or markers to produce a work of art. We will have three age groups, and there will be a winner in each group. Only one piece per person and it has to be done in the Gallery. The winners will be chosen by one of our artists.

Opening September 7: Best of NOIS (Northern Ohio Illustrators Society), with a reception from 6:00 to 9:00pm.
