Art at the School House Presents Bonnie Dolin
Art at the School House welcomes the colorful city and landscapes of lifelong Cleveland artist Bonnie Dolin. Bonnie opened her first studio in Little Italy shortly after her 1973 graduation from the Cleveland Institute of Art. As one of the first artists on the Hill, she was instrumental in developing the area as an artist’s haven. Her summer exhibition at the School House will be a reminiscent return to those halcyon days of her youth.
Bonnie’s subject matter has long been the city’s architecture and surroundings. Modeled from photographs taken while traveling throughout the area, Bonnie’s impressionistic renditions in oil and pastel imagine the commonplace. Brilliantly colored dramatic shapes and forms transmute the reality of her subject matter from the recognizable into the imaginative.
Also included will be a selection of Bonnie’s most recent work on still life and flowers.
