EIGHTHOURSRAW and Genius Loci at HEDGE Gallery
With a fresh look and new name, HEDGE Gallery is baring its walls and inviting eight artists who have never shown at the gallery to participate in a multi media exhibition entitled EIGHTHOURSRAW. EIGHTHOURSRAW is about self-exploration and the lifelong journey of discovering and peeling back the multiple layers within us. Featured artists are Shirley Alley Campbell (paintings / drawings), Jeon Francis (photography/ writings), Michael Helms (performance/ sculpture), Corey Herynk (paintings/ performance), Chappelle Letman (sculpture), Michelle Murphy (photography), Ken Nevadomi (paintings), Leigh Silverblatt (photographs/ video) and an addition of most recent work by Hilary Gent. August 16 through October 5.
On October 18h HEDGE Gallery is proud to open Genius Loci, a retrospective tracing the visionary achievement of the late Cleveland artist Randall Tiedman. This exhibit is in collaboration with curators William Scheele and Douglas Max Utter.
Teidman’s early, surrealist influenced landscape and figural work later evolved into sublime urban landscapes. The show explores highlights of his output as he explored expressive techniques and subjects. On view through January 4, 2014.
As the HEDGE Gallery director, I am thrilled to curate shows that combine Cleveland’s finest emerging artists and those with incredibly prominent art careers, in Northeast Ohio’s largest art complex, 78th Street Studios.
